The Care
& Cleaning of Your Diamond
Fine jewelry is a precious possession
that is designed and crafted to last a lifetime. Proper care
is required to assure the lasting qualities of your jewelry.
Here are some tips and guidelines for you to follow to insure
the best care and cleaning of your fine jewelry.
General Tips
- Store your jewelry in a clean, dry place.
- Keep your jewelry in a fabric-lined box with
compartments and dividers. Or use ordinary boxes and wrap each
piece of jewelry individually with soft tissue paper, to avoid
scratching the jewelry.
- Avoid storing multiple pieces of jewelry in
a drawer or jewelry case, as the individual pieces may rub against
each other causing damage to the pieces.
- Be careful when removing jewelry to wash your
hands. Avoid leaving jewelry near the edge of a sink, as it can
easily slip down the drain.
- See your jeweler at least once a year to have
your jewelry checked for loose prongs, worn mountings, and wear
and tear. Have your jewelry professionally cleaned every six months
by your jeweler.
